The design of the mouthpiece eliminates the "nutcracker" tongue-pinching action of conventional bits, while also preventing any palette pressure. It also avoids putting direct pressure on the sensitive tongue and bar areas. As a result this mouthpiece also replaces bit interferance with humane comfort and encourages relaxation and salivation, allowing for effective communication between horse and rider.
The oval lozenge link is prefered by some horses as it encourages them to mouth the bit without any thin edges which they may find uncomfortable.
